11-026RESOLUTION NO. 11-026 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, CANVASSING THE GENERAL AND SPECIAL ELECTION HELD ON MAY 14, 2011; DECLARING THE RESULTS OF GENERAL AND SPECIAL ELECTION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, there was a General Election held in the City of Southlake, Texas, on May 14, 2011, for the purpose of electing City Councilmembers, Place 1 and Place 6; and, WHEREAS, there was a Special Election held in the City of Southlake, Texas, on May 14, 2011, to consider a proposition for "The legal sale of all alcoholic beverages including mixed beverages."; and, WHEREAS, there were a total of 5,068 ballots cast in Tarrant County and Denton County as shown on the official election results heretofore lawfully submitted to the City Council of the City of Southlake, Texas, and filed with the City Secretary of said City; and, WHEREAS, only duly qualified resident electors of said City voted in said election, and said election was called and held in strict conformity with the laws of the State of Texas; and, WHEREAS, the results of said election were duly canvassed by the City Council of the City of Southlake, Texas, on May 24, 2011 and showed the following results: City Council Place 1 Early Votes Election Day Total S. The above canvass is and the same is hereby in all things approved. Section. 2. Attached to this resolution are the official cumulative reports from Tarrant County and Denton County.
