The Special City Council meeting was called to order by Mayor Gary
Fickes at 12:00 p.m.
`„p Agenda Item # 1 -B, Executive Session
Pm Mayor Fickes advised the audience that Council would be going into
executive session pursuant to Section 2(e) 2(f) 2(g) 2(j) of the
Open Meetings Act, to seek the advice of our City Attorney with
resect to pending and contemplated litigations.
Council adjourned for executive session as 12:03 p.m.
Council returned to open session at 12:55 p.m.

IN Agenda Item #1 -C, Action Necessary /Executive Session
,., Mayor Pro Tem Wilhelm stated our City Attorney, Wayne Olson
received a letter from Gary Keane, General Counsel with DFW Airport
in regard to the intent of SB 348. Which involves issues that we
believe would prohibit the City of Southlake from enforcing zoning
. ordinances, building codes and etc., in Airport hazard areas
irr outside the boundaries of the Airport.
Motion was made to direct the City of Southlake to prepare a
position paper against SB 348, to include:
1) the inclusion of the airport hazard area within the bill,
2) reduce future expansion of DFW, not only in the City of

Southlake, but other cities.
3) use our Legal Counsel to represent the City of Southlake
by attending the session in Austin.
