Item 4C Approve an Interlocal Cooperative Contract with the Texas Department of Public Safety, “Failure to Appear Program”, to provide a collection enforcement tool to the City of Southlake Municipal Court through which a defendant's ability to renew their driver’s license is restricted due to outstanding violations. Fulfill Our Mission Requested Action Approve an Interlocal Cooperative Contract with Texas Department of Public Safety, “Failure to Appear Program,” to provide a collection enforcement tool to the City of Southlake. 76th Texas Legislative Session, HB #2802. Amended Chapter 706 of the Texas Transportation Code. Collection enhancement program provided by OmniBase Services of Texas. Defendant unable to renew their driver’s license for failing to appear, pay, or satisfy a judgment of the court. TXDPS Failure to Appear Program Purpose is to assist local governmental entities enforce the laws of their communities. Goal is to get violator to contact the court. Over 885 Texas Municipalities / Counties currently participate in the program. TXDPS estimates that 95-98% of submitted offenders will comply.
