On behalf of 579 Kimball, L.L.C., First Graphic Services is requesting a variance to Sign
Ordinance 704, as amended, for the height of a temporary development sign. Due to
current road construction along Kimball Avenue, the existing entry monument and
screening wall for Cotswold Valley subdivision will eventually be removed and a new
screening wall and entry monument will be built upon completion. The proposed sign will
allow the applicant to continue marketing their residential development during the road
improvement process. Construction is scheduled to be completed by Spring 2012.

The sign ordinance allows for a maximum height of 7 feet for a one -sided sign. The
proposed sign measures a total 10 feet in height. The existing screening wall measures 6
feet in height.

The applicant is requesting to place a temporary development sign at 2240 Cotswold Valley
Court, 15 feet east of the existing six foot screening wall to allow for the planned Kimball
Avenue road improvements.

The Kimball Avenue project involves paving, utility, and drainage improvements for
widening of the road from SH 114 to Dove Road; going from a 2 -lane asphalt road to a 4-
lane concrete road with a divided center median and landscaping. Project includes 6 foot
sidewalks the entire length of both sides of Kimball. The estimated completion time is
Spring 2012.
