Mayor and members of the City Council. Item 4B is a resolution to appoint five
members to serve on the Board of Directors of the Tax Increment Reinvestment
Zone Number One, City of Southlake, Texas or the TIRZ Board. This is an annual
agenda item after City Council elections to manage the appointments of the TIRZ
Board of Directors. On July 18, 2000, the City Council approved Resolution No. 00-
80, appointing eight (8) members to the TIRZ Board of Directors for two year terms.
Through the initial appointments and subsequent appointments, four (4) terms have
expired and one (1) has been vacated.
Resolution No. 11 -033
• Appoints one (1) new City Council member
(term to expire May 2012)

(term to expire May 2013)

Resolution No. 11 -033 appoints one (1) new City Council member (Martin Schelling)
to a one year term to fill the remainder of the term of Laura K. Hill, appointed in July
2010. Staff is in the process of receiving the written resignation from the TIRZ
Director. This is consistent with the Bylaws and City Charter, Section 3.02(b),
regarding the filling of vacancies of unexpired terms. This member would be re-
appointed in May 2012 for a two (2) year term, which would appoint him to the TIRZ
Board of Directors for the remainder of his term on City Council.
This Resolution also re- appoints City Council members John Terrell, Jeff Wang, and
Al Zito and Carroll Independent School District Board of Trustees member Sherri
Williams to the TIRZ Board of Directors, as their terms expired in May 2011.
