Item 4GApproval of Change Orders for Bicentennial Park Phase I Item #4G Requested Action Approve Change Order No. 15 w/ Dean Electric, Inc. in the amount of $55,221.21 for Bicentennial Park Phase I and ratify Change Orders No. 1-14 Bicentennial Park Phase 1 PHASE 1 Background Information City Council awarded original contract to Dean Electric, Inc. for construction of Bicentennial Park Phase I improvements October 20, 2009 Subsequent Change Orders No. 1-15 have been issued for additional improvements to the Park Background Information These additional improvements were not part of the original design for Phase I Several needs/opportunities arose where staff deemed it appropriate to initiate the additional improvements during Phase I construction (7) street light poles replaced along park boulevard at the new FM 1709 entrance to match the other Phase I aesthetic improvements While the six new tennis courts were under construction, we had the contractor resurface (5) existing courts up for resurfacing during FY 2010 as part of our annual court resurfacing program (savings) Batting cages improvements - SPDC Matching Funds project w/ SBA approved by CC Change Order No. 15 recommended to extend the irrigation system to include the Shady Oaks Drive park frontage Financial Consideration Original Contract $10,245,740.00 Change Orders No. 1-14 $ 230,847.06 Change Order No. 15 $ 55,221.21 $10,531,808.27 Funding is available for Change Orders No. 1-15 in CIP for the Bicentennial Park Project Staff Recommendation Change Orders 1-14 have been reviewed and accepted by City administrative staff as received throughout construction of the project Staff recommends City Council ratification of Change Orders 1-14 Staff recommends approval of Change Order No. 15 as presented Questions: Chris Tribble 817-748-8021
