1990-05-05 PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD
MINUTES
MAY 5, 1990
PRESENT: Vice - Chairman, Randy Robertson, Janet Murphy, Ann Barnes,
Mike Jurecka, Steve Bender, Terry Mitchell, Rick Roberts and
Richard Lantz.
Absent: Chairperson, Bethann Scratchard.
The minutes for the March 12, 1990, meeting were approved as read.
OLD BUSINESS
1. Advertising signs at Bicentennial Park:
a) It was recommended that renewal forms for signs be mailed
out next year with a deadline for return.
b) Rick Roberts volunteered to coordinate signs starting
immediately.
2. Park Board Ordinance:
Be ready to vote on Ordinance and to recommend any changes
next month.
3. Ballfield Lights:
As soon as its dry enough for the truck we will finish
installing the lights at the Park.
4. Bulletin Board:
Terry Mitchell will construct vandalism proofed board within
the next couple of weeks.
NEW BUSINESS
1. Pepsi Concession Proposal:
a) Ann Barnes reviewed a presentation made to her and Bethann
Scratchard in April by the Peps Co. It involved a free
electric scoreboard in exchange for a 3 year contract.
Details are outlined in the attached report.
b) Mike Barnes said we should invite competitive company
offers and then recommend choice to the Council.
c) Richard Lantz recommended that the baseball assoc. board be
involved in the decision.
2. Walk Through The Park:
a) The board made a walk through the Park listing repairs,
improvements, etc., that could be made for next years budget.
The budget request needs to be done as soon as possible.
There being no further business to discuss the meeting was
adjourned.

PEPSI CONCESSION PROPOSAL
APRIL, 1990
Bethann Scrathard and Ann Barnes met with a Pepsi representative
Saturday, April 28th at Bicentennial Park. He presented a service
package with the following provisions based on a 3 month open
concession stand:
1. Pepsi would supply.
a) Dispenser equipment all new.
b) Maintenance
c) Menu Board for outside wall of concession stand.
2. Pepsi and their products can be purchased for $9.00 a canister
(discounted from $12.) Each 5 gal canister yields 80.16 oz
drinks or 100.12 oz drinks.
3. Carbon dioxide tank can be purchased for $10.
4. Cups would run $42 for 1000, 16 oz. and $63 for 2500, 12 oz..
5. If a 3 year contract is signed, they will additionally furnish
a Model 1010 scoreboard with electric controls (City needs to
Awe provide cable and location for control).
7 year contract would yield 2 scoreboards, 10 year contract
would yield 3 scoreboards.
6. Full price on the canisters might cut the required contract
period a little shorter than 10 years for 3 scoreboards.
7. The contract has a 30 day void clause if original contract
not fulfilled to either parties expectations. It can also be
renegotiated if the open length changes.
