Staging/Preparation to begin around 3PM
Drum & Bugle Corps to perform brass and percussion music
Bus and corps staging areas in western parking lots (Blocks 1 & 2)
Anticipated attendance – approximately 2,000

APEX Arts League and Crossman World Class Drum Corps will be required to provide a 50/50 match of contributions by the City.
Request will be based on actual costs incurred, not to exceed $454.19 which is 50% of the estimated cost of $908.37.
APEX Arts League and Crossman World Class Drum Corps would be responsible for incurring the cost for damage to any equipment should it occur during their use as well as all other cost
related to the event.
Showcase in the Square – A Drum & Bugle Corps Event
In accordance with the Council adopted Community Event Participation Policy:
Staff recommends approval of the Participation Agreement with APEX Arts League and Crossman World Class Drum Corps for the 2011 Showcase in the Square- A Drum & Bugle Corps Event, not
to exceed $454.19 which is 50% of the estimated cost of $908.37.

DCI is a global non profit organization promoting music education and entertainment
Member Corps are designated as World Class, International Class, and Open Class.
Crossmen are the only World Class Corps in Texas.
Other Texas Corps are in the Open Class and are also non profit organizations associated with DCI and/or DCA

Purpose
Provide a community event for Father’s Day that will become and annual event
Support APEX Arts League in their fine arts , growth and awareness initiatives
Expose Southlake and surrounding communities to Drum Corps opportunities
Generate exposure and business for sponsoring businesses and organizations
Raise funds for participating Corps
Showcase in the Square
