Item 9ARESOLUTION NO. 02 -014 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, APPOINTING A MEMBER TO THE SOUTHLAKE PARK DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION TO FILL THE UNEXPIRED TERM OF TAD STEPHENS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Whereas, pursuant to the authority granted by the Department Corporation Act of 1979, Article 5190.6, Texas Revised Statutes as amended (the "Act "), the City Council found it advisable to authorize the creation of a non - profit corporation to be named the Southlake Park Development Corporation, to act on its behalf in financing, under the Act, eligible "projects" deemed to be for the benefit of the public; and, Whereas, The Board of Directors shall be appointed by the City Council and be composed of seven (7) persons; four (4) of the Board of Directors shall be members of the City Council and the three (3) remaining Directors must not be employees or officers of the City, or members of the City Council, and at least one (1) of the remaining Directors must be a member of the Southlake Park and Recreation Board; and, Whereas, terms of the Directors shall be for two (2) years, expiring on May 31 of odd numbered and even numbered years, respectively. Directors may be appointed to succeed themselves. Each director shall serve until a successor is appointed; and, Whereas, a vacancy exists with the resignation of Tad Stephens effective immediately and whose term expires May 31, 2002; now, THEREFORE, IT BE RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT: Section 1. All of the findings in the preamble are found to be true and correct and the City Council hereby incorporates said findings into the body of this resolution as if copied in its entirety. Section 2. The City Council does hereby appoint until May 31, 2002. to serve Section 3. This resolution is hereby effective upon passage and approval by the City Council.
