Item 4H AudioSOUTHLAKE � City Council members, Item 4H on the consent agenda is to adopt an ordinance to abandon excess street right of way at 1705 West Continental Boulevard Requested Action Ordinance No. 998, 1St Reading, Adopt an ordinance to abandon excess street right of way at 1705 West Continental Boulevard and cede the property to the adjacent property owner The requested action if for Ordinance No. 998, 1St reading, adopt an ordinance to abandon excess street right of way at 1705 West Continental boulevard and cede the property to the adjacent property owner IIJ The slide indicates the location of the proposed right away abandonment at the intersection of Peytonville Ave and Continental Boulevard Background Information • Request of ROW abandonment by Carroll Independent School District (CISD) • Teague Nall and Perkins, Inc. contracted January 2011 • ROW needs at Continental Boulevard and Peytonville Avenue for future intersection improvements analyzed • Two scenerios studied • Ultimate dual lane roundabout • 3 way "T" intersection Teague Nall and Perkins, Inc. was contracted by the city in January 2011 to determine the ultitmate right of way required for future roadway improvements for the intersection at Peytonville Avenue and Continental Boulevard. Two scenerios were analyzed which included a dual lane roundabout and a 3 way "t" intersection. In addition, this would increase the distance of the right of line from the corner existing elementary school building.
