E General Election • General Election: Place 1 and Place 6 (3 -year terms) - Filing period: February 14, 2011 through March 14, 2011 • Early Voting: - Begins May 2 , 2011 and ends May 10, 2011 with various hours • Election Day: -May 14, 2011 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. U SOUTHLAKE There will be a General Election held for the positions of Places 1 and 6 all of which are 3 -year terms. The first regular business day to file an application for one of these 2 positions was February 14 with the last day being March 14. The period for Early Voting is from May 2 through May 10 with polls being open various hours each day. Election Day will be on May 14 with polls open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Our intent is to hold a joint election with Carroll ISD dependent on whether or not they have opposed races. 3 General Election • Tarrant County residents: — Early Voting at any polling location in Tarrant County (including Southlake Town Hall) — Election Day at Carroll High School • Denton County residents: — Early Voting at any polling location in Denton County (including Trophy Club Municipal Building) — Election Day at Trophy Club Municipal Building U SOUTHLAKE The primary purpose of this agenda item is to call the May 14, 2011 General Election. Tarrant County residents may vote at any early voting location within Tarrant County. Southlake Town Hall is designated as an early voting location. On Election Day, Tarrant County residents will vote at Carroll High School. Denton County residents may vote at any early voting location within Denton County. The Trophy Club Municipal Building is designated as an early voting location. On Election Day, Denton County residents will vote at the Trophy Club Municipal Building. There are approximately 417 Denton County registered voters. An item will be brought forward for consideration by Council to approve the election services contracts with both Tarrant and Denton Counties. It is anticipated this item will be placed on the April 5 Council agenda.
