Grapevine Southlake Soccer Association (GSSA)
Southlake Carroll Lacrosse Association (SCLA)
Southlake Baseball Association (SBA)
Southlake Girls Softball Association (SGSA)
Background
FUA govern use of City-owned fields and facilities
FUA Modification Committee (PB Members Slocum and Berman) held several meetings over past year to look at FUA’s for 2011
FUA Modification Committee ultimately requested assistance from Mayor John Terrell with impasse
FUA Work Group Created including Mayor Pro Tem Laura Hill and Council Member Al Zito

Addition of a Non-Resident Maintenance Fee of $17 per player, per season
3 year term (previously 1 year)
Proposed FUA’s utilize general core content of the previous FUA’s approved by City Attorney

Parks Board recommended approval (8-0) at January 10,
2011 meeting with recommendations:
Term of agreements be changed from 3 year agreements to 1 year agreements with two (2) one year automatic renewal options; requiring 30 day written notice by either party to end or renegotiate
the agreements
(Staff recommends 3 year agreements)
Increase field maintenance fees for Select/Academy participants (since their seasons typically run twice as long as the Fall & Spring seasons
$24 per player, per season for Southlake residents
$34 per player, per season for non-resident

Specific language be added:
“The ASSOCIATION, while able to use the facilities pursuant to the terms of this agreement, will in good faith work with the CITY regarding the CITY’S efforts to also make such facilities available
on an equitable basis to any other entity(ies) deemed suitable by the City that also legitimately seek to have some use of the facilities.”
