Ordinance was originally passed to address the issue of disturbances, disorderly conduct,
and criminal mischief by unattended minors at Town Square.
Since March 2008 we have issued 40 citations related to curfew violations, 31 to males and
9 to females.

The increase in disorderly conduct is not unexpected. You will recall that in 2009 we
partnered with Inland Southwest to provide officers to patrol Town Square in the evenings.
The main focus of their patrols is to enforce quality of life issues such as disorderly conduct
to ensure the Square remains a safe and enjoyable place to visit for people of all ages.
