Item 4G-4JItems 4G – 4J Approve Community Services Agreements Chris Tribble Director of Community Services Background City works w/ non-profit Community organizations to provide social, educational, economic, and cultural programs and services for Southlake citizens and businesses Allows for services to be provided without the City having to fund additional personnel and capital investments, as well as the ongoing administrative and operational expenses that would be required to provide these services to the community Background Workgroup (CC Members Muller & Wang and Staff) thoroughly reviewed & evaluated scope of services assessed value to the City for each agreement standardized agreements and clarified scope of services Workgroup recommends: 3 year terms Stagger agreements (2 year initial term for half of agreements) Community Services Agreement Southlake Chamber of Commerce Provides economic & civic support to encourage growth of new & existing businesses Coordinates Leadership Southlake Hosts Oktoberfest Organizes & hosts annual business awards banquet Makes retention visits for 30 businesses Community Services Agreement Southlake Community Band Citizen access to: participate in the arts support community cultural events educational programs for both children and adults Minimum of eight (8) free public concerts: Stars & Stripes Home for the Holidays Celebration Fall Concert Guest Artist Concert Annual Young Peoples Concert Art in the Square Other concerts at Town Square Community Service Agreement APEX Arts League Enhances community awareness, participation, and appreciation of the arts Eleven (11) free professional programs Three (3) educational programs Three (3) events with a community arts component Supports various aspects of artistic expression (painting, sculpture, music, theatre, dance, writing) through programming Provides information and assistance to artists, arts organizations and the general public Offers MasterWorks Music Series Over eleven (11) years in Southlake (concerts at TS) Visual and performing arts concerts to the public Community Services Agreement Arts Council Northeast Financial Considerations $52,000 for FY11 Southlake Chamber of Commerce $15,000 Southlake Community Band $ 7,000 APEX Arts League $ 8,000 Arts Council Northeast $22,000 Requested Action City Council approval of CS Agreements Questions?
