The location map shows the 2 phases of FM1938. Phase 1 is located within the Town of
Westlake from SH114 to the Randol Mill Bend. Phase 2, which will primarily within the City
of Southlake will continue south from the Randol Mill Bend to the intersection of Southlake
Blvd (FM1709)
Background
• FM1938 Phase II
— joint project between the City of Southlake, Keller,
Tarrant County, TxDOT and the Regional
Transportation Council (NCTCOG — RTC)
• Southlake, Keller and Tarrant County
— responsible for providing engineering design
services and right -of -way to TxDOT for the
FM1938 project

Town of Westlake
• FM1938 Phase II
— 4 lane roadway south from the Randol Mill bend
— transition to a 6 lane roadway at Johnson Road

Southlake Blvd. (FM1709)

• Tarrant County will participate in the cost
with the cities of Southlake and Keller in the
amount of $451,449
• The remainder of the engineering cost will be
divided equitably between the cities of
Southlake and Keller
• The interlocal agreement outlines the
payment schedule to Southlake for those
funds

Tarrant County and the City of Keller

The construction of FM1938 Phase 2 links to the city's strategy map relative to the focus
areas of Mobility, Partnerships and Volunteerism, Infrastructure, and Performance
Management and Service Delivery. The specific corporate objectives that are met by the
construction of this project include: Provide travel convenience within City and region,
Collaborate with select partners to implement service solutions, Investing to provide and
maintain high quality public assets, and Providing High Quality Customer Service.
