Item 9A13 SOUTHLAI<,,E CITY OF Department of Planning & Development Services STAFF REPORT November 10, 2010 CASE NO: SV10 -025 PROJECT: Sign Variance for Watermere at Southlake REQUEST: Southlake Watermark Holdings, L.P., is requesting a variance from the Sign Ordinance No. 704 -E regulations for a temporary sign. The subject property is located at the southeast corner of West Southlake Boulevard and Watermere Drive and the address is 2807 West Southlake Boulevard. The applicant is requesting approval for a v- shaped development sign that exceeds the maximum sign height and maximum sign area standards as well as the allowable duration for this type of sign. The sign was originally approved in April 2008 and renewed in May 2009 for a period of one year. The sign is v- shaped (2 sided), 13 feet tall, and 200 square feet in total area. PROPERTY SITUATION: The property address is 2807 West Southlake Boulevard. HISTORY: On April 18, 2006, City Council approved a variance to allow a development sign with a height of 15 feet and an area of 160 square feet at this location for a period of 18 months from installation. This sign was removed in spring 2008. On April 15, 2008, City Council approved a variance for this sign for a period of one year. On May 15, 2009, City Council approved a variance for this sign for a period of one year.
