• Total of 35,947 s.f. (0.825 acre) approved for
purchase by City Council on September 21, 2010
• Total of 20,210 s.f. (0.464 acre) required for
construction of improvements
— 3,439 s.f. (0.0790 acre) is prescriptive right -of -way

Ordinance no. 962 established the extension of Kirkwood Boulevard to East Highland
Avenue and also added it to the Master Thoroughfare Plan. As mentioned earlier, this
parcel is located at 1371 East highland Avenue. A total of 20,210 sf is required from this
parcel in order to construct the improvements to the road. Approximately 35,947 sf will be
declared as surplus once the ordinance is adopted by City Council.

The scope of this project includes the construction of 13,200 linear feet of 8 inch reinforced
concrete pavement on the north side of the future Kirkwood Boulevard. Once completed,
commuters will be able to travel between Carroll Ave and East Highland Avenue. Also
included is approximately 2,000 sf of 8 foot sidewalk paving as well as storm drain and
water line improvements.
