Integrity Innovation Accountability Ben Thatcher Commitment to Excellence Assistant City Manager Teamwork For the past three years, CISD and the City of Southlake have undertaken an effort to streamline and merge emergency management planning from a joint city and district perspective. This agreement is a continuation of that effort, and just formalizes a general understanding that we've had with CISD for some time now. 1 Requested Action Approve CISD Joint Utilization agreement for emergency fuel and bus usage. - -Tu OWN- 7�' ®SOUTHLAKE Staff is requesting approval of CISD Joint Utilization agreement for emergency fuel and bus usage, which will lend CISD support to the City in times of extreme emergencies. Ir Background Information • Agreement formalizes general understanding • If necessitated the District shall provide: —Access to fuel pumps — Use of school buses —Qualified personnel to operate buses • City will reimburse the District for use ©SOUTHLAKE This agreement acts to provide for emergency fuel services and buses for instances of extreme public emergency and need. An example of such an event may be an FS tornado that severely damages the infrastructure of the community. In this type of event, the District would loan fuel and buses to the City of Southlake as needed to assist the community through a crisis. The City would then seek expense reimbursement from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to reimburse the school district. 3 The City of Southlake provides municipal services that support the highest quality of life for our residents and businesses.
