Artografx, on behalf of Solara, is requesting a variance to the Sign Ordinance No. 704-
E requirements for maximum letter height for an attached sign. Solara is located at
2250 East Continental Boulevard, Suite 100 in the Champion Crossing development.
The applicant is requesting a sign with 17.5 inch letters on the south elevation facing
East Continental Boulevard. Under Sign Ordinance No. 704 -E, the applicant is allowed
a maximum letter height of 16 inches. The applicant has an existing sign on the east
elevation facing South Kimball Avenue which is identical to the proposed sign.
Because of the distance to the street, a larger letter height is permitted on the east
elevation.

Please dermanstrate that this following conditiqns are applicable to th+e requested sign varianca
1, That a literal errforcement of the sign regulation will create an unnecessary hardship or practi+
difficulty on the applicant.
The sign regulation is not compatible with the tenants strict corporate guidelines
for the company logo.
2. That the situation causing the unnecessary hardship or practical d culty is unique to the affe
property and is not self Imposed.
Due to the size and scale of the building, the current sign regulation does not allow
legibility and overall, functionality of the the tenant font /logo,
3. That the variance will not injure and wills he wholly compatible with the use and permitted
development of adjacent properties.
This variance will allow to keep the same continuity throughout the property
and more importantly match the existing.
4. That the variance will be in harmony with the spirit and purpose of the sign ordinance.
"yes, the valiance is within the spirit and harmony of the sign ordinance. We
would just life to ask for a slightly larger size to also allow for the desired
functionality.
