Item 9A ResolutionCity of Southlake, Texas RESOLUTION NO. 04 -071 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, AMENDING THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE PERSONNEL POLICIES TO ADOPT A WORKPLACE CONDUCT POLICY, INCORPORATING AND SUPERCEDING THE CURRENT SEXUAL HARASSMENT POLICY AND EEO DISCRIMINATION COMPLAINT PROCEDURE. WHEREAS, the City of Southlake (the "City ") desires to promote a workplace that is free from discriminatory intimidation, ridicule, harassment and insult whether based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age or disability; and to promote a workplace that is safe and free from violence; and WHEREAS, the City recognizes that a means of reporting such conduct without fear of reprisal, allows the City to take immediate and appropriate corrective action to resolve issues of discrimination, harassment and workplace violence; and WHEREAS, the City desires to establish a personnel policy to incorporate the existing Sexual Harassment Policy and EEO Discrimination Complaint Procedure, and to further prohibit other forms of discrimination, harassment and workplace violence; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, THAT: Section 1: The City of Southlake hereby adopts the Workplace Conduct policy, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and which is incorporated by reference herein. Section 2: The existing Sexual Harassment Policy and EEO Discrimination Complaint Procedure are hereby superceded by adoption of the Workplace Conduct Policy. Section 3: This resolution shall become effective after its passage and adoption by the City Council. PASSED AND APPROVED THIS THE DAY OF , 2004.
