The SPIN Standing Committee respectfully submits this written report in an effort to maintain
communication flow between the Standing Committee and the City Council
1. Joint City Council / SPIN Standing Committee meeting — The Standing Committee
Meeting has been rescheduled to Thursday, July 15, 2003 at 6:30 p.m., Training Rooms 93c
and #3d.
2. SPIN Standing Committee Meeting Recap — The SPIN Standing Committee held a second
Joint City Council meeting and business meeting on June 8, 2004. Below is a summary of
the issues addressed at the meeting:
• SPIN Calendar of Events / Recap of Recent SPIN Events and Activities
• Discussion of Potential for Increased Partnership with the Southlake Chamber of
Commerce — Former SPIN #3 Representative Milan Georgia, now involved with the
Chamber of Commerce, followed up on the idea of the Standing Committee of finding
appropriate ways for SPIN and the Chamber to partner in order to more effectively
communicate with the community. The participants discussed partnering on the
September Town Hall Meeting on Regional Economic Trends and Indicators.
• Recommendation to the City Manager regarding FY 2004 -05 SPIN Operating Budget —
The Standing Committee discussed the current year budget, the Committee appointed a
budget sub - committee to review each line item and complete a recommendation to the
Standing Committee. This work has been completed and will be an item on the July
Standing Committee meeting agenda.
• Discussion of Reviewing the SPIN Ordinance — The Standing Committee tabled
discussion of this item to the July meeting. They have directed the Executive Committee
to place this as a standing item on the monthly meeting agendas to review until they have
completely reviewed the Ordinance as a group.
• City Council Reports
• Neighborhood Reports and Open Forum
3 - its of Recent SPIN Meetings — The following events were held during the month of
May:
• Monday, June 7 th — SPIN Citywide Forum for Neighborhood 97 — Topic Proposed
zoning change for Cornerstone Business Park located on the east side of the 300 through
500 blocks of South Nolen Drive.
• Monday, June 7 th — SPIN Citywide Forum for Neighborhood 95 — Topic Proposed
Residential Development Concept located in the vicinity of Dove Road and N. White
Chapel Blvd. A copy of the meeting comments are placed on the SPIN Website under
"Meeting Reports."

• Monday, June 14 — SPIN Citywide Forum — Topic Overview of Upcoming Verizon
installation of fiber optic cable. A copy of the meeting comments are placed on the SPIN
Website under "Meeting Reports."
4. Calendar of Events — Upcoming SPIN Meetings and Events for July are the following:
• Monday, July 19 — SPIN Citywide Forum — Topic Proposed Office Buildings at the
NW corner of Shady Oaks and F.M. 1709. 7:00 p.m. — Southlake Town Hall, Training
Rooms #3a and #3b.
• Monday, July 19 — SPIN Citywide Forum for Neighborhoods #3 and #5 — Topic
Proposed Residential Development on E. Dove Road, adjacent to the west of Carroll
Middle School. 8:30 p.m. - Southlake Town Hall, Training Rooms #3a and 93b.
• Wednesday, July 21 —SPIN Citywide Forum for Neighborhood #2, #3, and #5 —Topic:
Proposed Tarah Lakes Residential Development at the Vicinity of Dove Road and N.
White Chapel Blvd. 7:00 p.m. — Southlake Town Hall, Training Rooms #3a and #3b.
