Starting August 15
residents of Southlake can
register online for
recreational activities.
Internet registration is
expected to improve
customer service by
providing twenty -four hour a
day, seven day a week
access for program
registration. RecNet is the
network of recreational
services that provides this
online service and can be
accessed through any
internet- connected
computer. Visit the City's
recreation web site
www.ci.southlake.tx.us to
access on -line registration.
Summer athletic programs
continue to grow. This year,
the track program had 115
participants; one- hundred-
seventy people participated
in the swim program;
summer basketball had 300
players and 34 teams; and
volleyball had 200 players
and 18 teams.
Non - athletic programs and
special events also continue
to be very popular as
residents take part in
such activities as the Stars
and Stripes celebration,
Masterworks Music Series,
Camp Mania, Teen Camp,
and BooBoo's Buddies
Annual Pet Celebration.

Rodeo
Once a year, the
Department of Community
Services takes part in the
Metro Park Maintenance
Rodeo. This year's rodeo is
scheduled for October 6 th at
Walker's Creek Park in
North Richland Hills
beginning at 8:00 a.m.
Come out to the activities
and cheer on your parks
maintenance employees.

The "First Annual Fall
Festival" is Saturday,
November 5, 2005 from
10am -2pm at the Senior
Center (307 Parkwood
Drive). Tickets cost $5 each
and proceeds benefit Senior
Center activities and Call A
Ride Southlake (CARS).

Harvest Fest

Come join us as we celebrate the fall season at the annual Harvest
Fest and Carnival. Entertainment will include a magic show,
Halloween show, and costume parade. There will be numerous
activities for children such as bounce houses, carnival games, face
painting, balloon art, and pumpkin decorating. The Bob Jones
Nature Center is sponsoring the "Wings of the Night" hike where
participants can get an up close look at real bats. Food, drinks,
and other goodies will also be available.
