Southlake
Volunteer
Call a Ride of Southlake,
Inc. (CARS) is a volunteer -
dependent, not - for - profit
corporation whose purpose
is to provide free, non -
emergency transportation to
Southlake area
seniors
and residents with
disabilities for
medical, dental,
social, business,
shopping and
personal needs. The
program is offered
Monday through
Friday from 8:00 a.m.
to 5:00 p.m.
CARS provides
seniors and those
with disabilities with
the means to be more
independent in accessing
medical and shopping
needs, and more active in
recreational and social
functions in Southlake
and nearby areas. CARS
provides this independence
through safe, free
transportation provided by
community volunteers. Join
our CARS Team of Drivers.
CARS depends on
volunteers to drive their own
vehicles or the CARS
special needs van. Our
CARS Team of Drivers drive
an average of 2 trips per
month. Average trips are 13
miles and take one hour
total. CARS will transport
within a twenty -five mile
radius of Southlake for most
medical purposes and within
a seven -mile radius for non-
medical purposes such as
shopping and business.

Malcolm
Jackson to
Retire
Our beloved leader has
finally decided to kick his
feet up a little bit and retire
after spending
most of his
adult life
serving the
public,
manager. "Malcolm's career
included serving as a police
officer, firefighter and
emergency medical
technician as well as
administrative leadership
roles in building services,
community services, parks
and recreation. He served
in each of those roles with
distinction,"

Volunteer Coaches Needed
Registration Fees Reimbursed
(For Division II Only)
In order for all of our leagues to be successful,
volunteer coaches are needed. Training can be
provided upon request. Volunteer coaching is fun
and it pays off! Registration fees will be reimbursed
at 100% for the volunteer head and his or her first
two children. Half of the registration fee will be
reimbursed for each additional child. The
commitment required is that the individual must
commit to coach the activity for the duration of the
season. Fees will only be reimbursed for the
child(ren) of one head coach per team, so be sure
and call 817 - 748 -8023 to sign up.

Friends, family members and co- workers
make great teammates in these exciting and
competitive recreation leagues. Referees and
scorekeepers are provided, but teams are
responsible for their own jerseys. Put a team
