Southlake Planning and Zoning Commission 5119105 Discussion of Timber Lake Pool and Recreation Complex Addition. Due to a Spring Band Concert tonight @ 7:00, I am unable to attend this meeting in full; however, I have concerns and comments regarding this project that I wish to be a part of the public record. I did not receive clear and timely notice of this project. The City of Southlake did send two letters to me received the week of May 9, one via certified mail. The letter included a "Vicinity Map" titled Timber Lake Pool and Recreation Complex., 601 Timber Lake Circle. This map shows the green belt directly behind my property is part of the improvement area. After calling the Planning and Zoning department, I have been assured that the improvement is limited to a shade structure in the current pool area. However, I have not received any written confirmation that the property contiguous to mine is not affected, and negates the area represented in the Vicinity Map. The architectural drawing of the plan submitted was the original "As Built Survey" with the original date, 9128192. Modifications in black and white were not dated and impossible to distinguish from the original document. I received no information regarding this project from the Timber Lake HOA. On Tuesday, May 17, I received a letter delivered to my address explaining in detail that two shade structures will be added to the pool, This is not my preference. I prefer no shade structure to be built. The letter also mentioned this project was presented to residents via hand delivered newsletter. I did not receive this newsletter. I rarely receive the hand- delivered newsletters from the neighborhood. My preference is that the project not proceed. In fairness to those desiring the shade structure, I request that if it moves forward, construction be limited to a shade structure on one side of the pool only. I use the pool regularly. A major part of my decision to purchase my home is because of the pool as it currently exists. I prefer AT LEAST half of the pool lanes to be fully open air, for swimming in the sunshine, and sunning area in chairs around the pool as currently exists. It would reduce my enjoyment of my property if the swimming pool is covered on BOTH sides with a shade structure, Again, I prefer that this project be canceled. However, I feel a fair compromise would be to construct the shade structure canopy from the existing pool house, thereby covering the steps and providing a shady spot for children to play. I appreciate the effort of the City Staff to help clarify this confusing and misleading situation. I would greatly appreciate written confirmation of the plans both as presented and approved. 5ify ly, Radfoe. rlewse p)SI o - qt? y Gay° ,,4 t P6dC a l'o-res - 7 '14'7.f- cc, Case No. ZA 05 -052 Attachment F Page 2
