Demonstration
please demonstrate th a the foll9 condifig are app illeable to the re uested al n
varlance:
7. That a Uteral enforcement of the sign regulation will crate an unnecessary hardshlp or
practlral difficulty rn applicant. Size requirements are based on 64'
to 130' streets and not freeways covering over 300'. The sign
code restricts signs to sizes that actually impair visibility;
thereby, causing hardship on Retail and Service Merchants. These
requirements do not allow adequate letter sizes creating a
danger to motorists by being unreadable and impractical.
2, That the skuaGtlon causing the unnecessary hardship or prat #Brat difficulty Is uniqu0 to the
affected property and Is rat self imposed, This was an existing Center
situated on SH Hwy. 114, which ultimately became a mayor freeway
carrying 71,000 cars per 24 hour period even during a 2 year
construction::program. East Hwy 114 has S major lanes with 6
service lanes totally a [Distance of lineal feet with
the height level east of the Center, then, ascending to almost
13' across the distance of the entire frontage,
. That the variance wilt not t)J+Za and will be wholJy compatible Wit the use and permitted
& /alopment of adjacent properttes_ The adjacent properties should want
the same signage as our request for theirs and/or their
Tenant's use in order to obtain requir marketing visibility.
Signs attached to the building face of our Center should be
compatable with adjacent: property uses and signages. I can not
conceive of any type of injury or incompatibility that would
occur.
4. Th -at the varlanco Wu l be In harmony with the spirit and purpose of the sugn Ordinance.
The spirirt and purpose of signage is to ;serve the needs of
building owners and their respective Tenants in a dignified
and highly visible impact manner conducive to good marketing
procedures. The letter and overall signage size should not
detract from the attractiveness and appeal of the buildings
and neighborhoods.
