Brown Recluse Information:
Please be careful during spring cleaning and avoid the nasty
arachnid know as the Brown Recluse spider (below). For all
who indulge in yard work, cleaning your attics and
sheds, and the like, it is important to be careful, wear
appropriate protective gear if the job calls for it, and be
cautiously alert to your surroundings. Brown Recluse spider
bites can have horrible, permanently disfiguring
consequences. The spiders like the darkness and tend to live
in storage sheds or attics or other areas that might not be

Violence
against
women is an
everyday reality.
This class teaches women how to react to and
prevent violent situations by first becoming
aware of the surroundings, both physically
and mentally. Through basic physical
conditioning and repetitive practice of realistic
self- defense techniques in various scenario
training, women will learn to become a "hard
target " -- making herself appear confident and
aware. The next step is to transfer her fear
and anger into the will to survive and fight
back where there is no alternative.
