CIT YOF SOUTHLAKE. COM/SL202 5/DEFAULT. ASP EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The Southlake 2025 Plan is the city's comprehensive plan update and a blueprint for its future. It is a statement of community values and establishes a vision for the long -term growth and development of the city. On March 2, 2004, City Council adopted Phase I — Vision, Goals, and Objectives of the Southlake 2025 Plan. This document forms the basis for Phase 11 — developing the specific recommendations on the land use, thoroughfare (mobility), environmental protection, and other elements. In order to facilitate a detailed but efficient planning process for Phase II, the Planning and Zoning Commission has divided the city into nine (9) distinct planning areas. The S.H. 114 Corridor is the second of the nine planning areas in this phase of the Southlake 2025 Plan. The purpose of this report is to: 1. Establish a detailed background for the planning area and planning process; 2. Identify current development constraints and issues; 3. Identify critical environmental and natural resources to be preserved; 4. Explore development opportunities within the study area; and 5. Make recommendations for the future development of the area. The area plans developed as a part of the Southlake 2025 Plan process will be used as the basis for updating the city's land use and master thoroughfare plans and creating new plans for environmental protection and mobility. Also, these area plans will be utilized in setting priorities in the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) planning process, updating current development ordinances, and could serve as a catalyst for creating new planning related programs. ii ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS SOUTHLAKE CITY COUNCIL ANDY WAMBSGANSS, MAYOR KEITH SHANKLAND, MAYOR PRO TEM CAROLYN MORRIS, DEPUTY MAYOR PRO TEM JOHN TERRELL GREGORY JONES VIRGINIA M.
