The Southlake Seniors celebrate Mardi Gras and laissez les bon temps
roulez! This common refrain in Louisiana is French for "Let the good
times roll!" Mardi Gras is French for Fat Tuesday, the single -day
culmination of the Carnival season.
This year's upcoming Mardi Gras celebration will be held Tuesday
February 8th, at Senior Activity Center. The seniors will have the
occasion to participate in the annual celebration of parades, music and
food, which occurs every February or March during Mardi Gras season,
Southlake style. Lunch is provided by the Krewe(The generic term for all
Carnival organizations) of Metroport Meals on Wheels, with entertainment
boasting as the best Zydego this side of Lake Pontchatrain. All are
invited to attend.
Southlake Seniors enjoy having a good time, and it shows in the many
activities available to the members of the Senior Activity Center. For
information on upcoming senior events or volunteer opportunities call
