Item 4E (2)City Council Senior Newsletter Volume 1, Issue 1 Sassy Lassies the New Year! Ready for Kim Edmonds The Sassy Lassies are gearing up for the New Year after an exciting and eventful holiday season. Finishing up after the holidays, now is the time to focus on events and activities for the upcoming year. Some of the activities include the Red Hat Sassy Lassies taking a trip to the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame in Ft. Worth, Texas, on January 20th. From its inception, the museum has honored brave women who played a part in taming the west. The museum honors rodeo queens and ranch women but it doesn't stop there. The museum has also inducted women who told their story with pen, paintbrush and song. Artists like Georgia O'Keeffe, authors such as Laura Ingalls Wilder, actress Dale Evans, and songster Patsy Montana share the spotlight with women who established businesses related to ranch, rodeo and cowboy life. The National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame is the only one of its kind in the world, making it a national treasure and a tribute to women with that cowgirl spirit.
