Materials to Centerline Supply and Roadrunner Traffic Supply
Background
Information: Throughout the year the Street division of Public Works makes numerous
purchases of Signs and Pavement Marking Materials for use in the repair,
maintenance, and replacement of traffic control signs and pavement
markings. In order to obtain competitive pricing and facilitate these
purchases, staff solicited sealed bids for the most commonly used supplies
from local vendors.
Two bids were received on October 27 2006. The bids have been
reviewed by City Staff and are tabulated on the attached schedule of
pricing. In order to obtain the best possible value, the supplies were
divided in to categories with the intention of awarding each category to
the low bidder.
It is recommended that the City Council award the annual contracts to
Centerline Supply and Roadrunner Traffic Supply for the various
categories indicated on the attached Bid Tabulation.
Financial
Considerations: Funding for routine purchases under these contracts is provided in the FY
07 operating budgets for the Street and Drainage Maintenance division.
