Item 7LCity of Southlake Department of Planning STAFF REPORT September 13, 2006 CASE NO ZA06 -114 PROJECT: Revised Site Plan for Bob Jones Park REQUEST: The City of Southlake is requesting approval of a revised site plan to add approximately 127 parking spaces at Bob Jones Park located at N. White Chapel Boulevard and Bob Jones Road. The proposed parking is intended to serve the existing softball fields located at the southern end of the park. The revised site plan is required since this parking is in addition to the improvements approved in previous site plans for Bob Jones Park in 2000 and 2003. The Park Board recommended the proposed improvements at their regular meeting on August 14, 2006. The Southlake Parks Development Corporation (SPDC) approved the plans as presented at their meeting on September 5, 2006. ACTION NEEDED: 1. Conduct public hearing 2. It is the applicant's responsibility to contact the department representative shown above and make modifications as required by the comment. Parking Lot Landscape Comments: 1. The parking lot landscape medians look to measure smaller than the minimum 12' wide requirement. Please ensure that the parking lot landscape medians are at least 12' wide inside curb -to -curb or 13' edge -to -edge if no curb is intended. 2. Move the parking lot landscape island immediately south of the pedestrian walkway east or west to maintain ease of pedestrian traffic flow. TREE CONSERVATION COMMENTS: Need details (location, size, and type) of existing trees proposed to be removed along with their species and trunk diameter and where they are going to be reforested. Landscape Administrator will work with Community Services staff to help identify trees to be removed and replanted within the parkprior to issuance of an Earth Disturbance permit.
