P ROJECT: Sign Variance for Roxann Taylor & Associates, Realtors
REQUEST: This is a variance request from the Sign Ordinance No. 704 -B regulations for maximum
letter /logo height of an attached sign. The subject property is located in the Carroll
Terrace office development and the address is 640 North Carroll Avenue. The
applicant is proposing one attached sign facing Carroll Avenue that will have one letter
that is taller than allowed. The remaining letters comply with the maximum letter /logo
height standard. The proposed sign complies with the sign area regulations for attached
signs.
Approval of a variance is needed to receive a sign permit for this sign. The specific
variance requested is as follows:

PROPERTY SITUATION: The property address is 640 North Carroll Avenue.
STAFF COMMENTS: The sign criteria, site plan and application are attached to this report. The
following variances are requested:
• Ord. 704 -13, Section 16.A.2 MAXIMUM LETTER/LOGO HEIGHT The
maximum permitted letter height for attached signs less than 100 feet from
the right of way is 12 inches.
The subject building is approximately 81 feet from the right of way. The
applicant is requesting a maximum letter height of 24 inches.
