City of Southlake Department of Planning STAFF REPORT July 26, 2006 CASE NO SP 06 -341 P ROJECT: Sign Variance for Wing Stop REQUEST: This is a variance request from the Sign Ordinance No. 704 -B to exceed the maximum area for an attached sign. The subject property is located at 2125 West Southlake Boulevard, Suite 375, which is the Southlake Marketplace shopping center at the southeast corner of F.M. 1709 and Davis Boulevard. The applicant is proposing one attached sign that will have a sign area larger than allowed. Approval of a variance is needed to receive a sign permit for this sign. The following variances are requested: • Ord. 704 -13, Section 16.A.3 MAXIMUM AREA The maximumperinitted area is 0.75 square feet for every one foot of width of building or lease space. The subject lease space is approximately 19 feet wide, which allows a maximum sign area of 14.25 square feet. The applicant is requesting a sign area of 25.67 square feet.
