Narrative to accompany Special Use Permit Application of William M. Carder
01 May, 2006
I am a wine expert with over 20 years of experience in the fine wine trade in Texas..
In addition to this experience, 7 have formal training in wine. The proposed business has
been many years in the planning. Wine has become the alcohol beverage of choice,

among drinkers, it has evolved into a lifestyle. My Southlake store will seek to market
and popularize wine and the wine lifestyle.
Our store will:
• retail 200 well chosen selections with descriptions of their flavors and aromas;
• create and market gift baskets;
• sell wine accessories on premise and by catalog and internet;
• sell wine racks and wine storage solutions;
• sell wine related house wares, art, and gifts;
• create wine clubs for our customers.
Our Service Division will:
• conduct wine classes for individuals, groups, and companies;
• plan parties for our customers;
• plan and conduct in home tastings;
• educate our customers about wine and a healthy lifestyle;
• arrange events and festivals locally;
• arrange tours to wine country destinations worldwide,
