Amendment to the Southlake Town Square Block 22 Master Sign Plan for

REQUEST: T. J. Shier, Which Wich Superior Sandwiches, is requesting an amendment to the
Southlake Town Square, Block 22 Master Sign Plan requirements for maximum logo
height for awning signs and maximum total area for attached signs. The subject
property is located at 1516 East Southlake Boulevard in Block 22 of Southlake Town
Square. The applicant is requesting two awning signs - one on the north elevation and
one on the south elevation - both with a 32 inch logo. The Southlake Town Square,
Block 22 Master Sign Plan allows a maximum letter/logo height of 12 inches for
awning signs.
The awning signs are requested in addition to the existing attached sign on the north
elevation and the existing attached sign on the south elevation. Both existing signs
measure 18 inches tall by 12 feet 9 inches wide and have an area of 19.125 square feet
each. The requested awning signs are each approximately 16 square feet. The total
square footage requested per elevation is 35.125 square feet. Due to the width of the
applicant’s lease space, the applicant is only permitted a total of 34 square feet of
signage per elevation.

At the November 6, 2007 meeting, City Council requested a photograph of one of
the installed awning signs. The applicant has provided photographs and they are
included in Attachment E.
