Item 9CCity of Southlake Department of Planning & Development Services S T A F F R E P O R T August 1, 2007 SP 07-182 CASE NO: Sign Variance for Cornerstone Plaza PROJECT: REQUEST: Shafer Plaza XXV, Ltd. is requesting a variance from the Sign Ordinance No. 704-C regulations for maximum total height, maximum sign face height, and setback requirements for monument signs. The subject property is the Cornerstone Plaza shopping center, located at 2707, 2717, and 2729 East Southlake Boulevard. At the June 19, 2007 City Council meeting, the applicant requested a second multi- tenant monument sign along East Southlake Boulevard that would have required a variance to setback regulations and street frontage regulations. City Council provided recommendations at the meeting and tabled the variance request to July 17, 2007 to allow the applicant time to revise the request. At the July 17, 2007 City Council meeting, the applicant proposed one four-sided multi-tenant monument sign for the whole shopping center (replacing the existing Shoe Pavilion monument sign). To allow the applicant time to revise the sign variance request, this item was tabled to the August 7, 2007 City Council meeting. The applicant is also requesting a variance to the setback requirements.
