JAIN 802 Worthing Court Southlake, Texas 76092 (817) 416 -9933 khjain @verizon.net July 29, 2005 Ms. Lori Farwell, City Secretary City of Southlake 1400 Main Street, Suite 270 Southlake, Texas 76092 Re: Application for Volunteer Appointment to Zoning Board of Adjustment Dear Ms. Farwell: Two years ago, I submitted my first application for appointment to certain of the City's commissions and boards. At that time, I had watched the rapid development of the City with awe, and there was no doubt in my mind that Southlake was on the move! In the past two years, Southlake has continued its development and again, just watching the activity is not enough for someone as enthralled as L 1 would very much like to remain involved with the City by continuing my participation on the Zoning Board of Adjustment and, if possible, other boards and commissions. Attached you will find a copy of my resume submitted in support of my application for reappointment to the Zoning Board of Adjustment. As my resume indicates, I am a skilled attorney with a heavy background in business matters. Since leaving an active and very successful commercial bankruptcy practice in one of the world's largest law firms two years ago, I have started two businesses. I am certain that my experience and skills can be of use to the Zoning Board of Adjustment. The current residential and commercial development within the City mandates that the Zoning Board of Adjustments continues to issue informed and well- reasoned decisions regarding all manner of improvements and issues related thereto. Though my legal experience targeted commercial bankruptcy matters, many of the skills I have developed either directly intersect with the role of the Zoning Board of Adjustment or serve as corollaries. For instance, I have been highly- trained to understand why businesses do or do not succeed, why real estate endeavors thrive or fail and how to avoid pitfalls both known and unknown. The continued successful residential and commercial. development of Southlake requires analysis involving those skills. If you have any questions or would like any additional information, please do not hesitate to call me at (817)416 -9933. Best regards, 4 / 4--4- RECERVED Kristin H.
