Action Requested: Authorize staff to expend 2006 PMA funds to repair Silverwood Circle located in the Highlands section of the Timarron Addition in an amount not to exceed $125,000, utilizing contracts under the existing interlocal agreements and take any necessary action. Background Information: Certain pavement sections in the Timarron Addition failed prematurely due to the construction methods in place at the time the streets were constructed. The citizens of this area have been dealing with this pavement distress for a significant period of time. Silverwood Circle in the Highlands is one more severely distressed streets in the area of concern. There is sufficient funding remaining in the 2006 PMA project to repair Silverwood Circle. Based on staff’s assessment on the pavement failures and the underlying subgrade condition, the estimated cost to restore the pavement to an acceptable condition is just under $125,000. Staff will be constructing drainage improvements as part of this reconstruction project due to water infiltration into the subgrade at this location. Once completed, staff will utilize paving services authorized under an Inter-local Agreement with the City of Grapevine. Financial Considerations: Funding for this repair is available in the 2006 PMA improvement project account. Citizen Input/ Board Review: None Legal Review: None. Alternatives: The City Council may approve or deny the request for funding. Supporting Documents: None. Staff Recommendation: Authorize staff to expend 2006 PMA funds to repair Silverwood Circle located in the Highlands section of the Timarron Addition in an amount not to exceed $125,000, utilizing contracts under the existing interlocal agreements and take any necessary action.
