Item 4KCity of Southlake Department of Planning & Development Services S T A F F R E P O R T March 28, 2007 CASE NO: SP 07-097 Sign Variance for Shops of Southlake Development Sign PROJECT: REQUEST: This is a variance request from the Sign Ordinance No. 704-C requirements for maximum sign height, sign area and duration of temporary development signs. This is a request to extend the currently approved temporary sign at this location for an additional one year. The current sign permit expired in January 2007. There are no changes to the existing sign; however, the applicant will be changing the appearance of the sign face in the coming months (similar to the Southlake Town Square development sign). The following variances are requested: Sign Reg. Permitted Requested Maximum Height 7 feet 13.5 feet (as previously approved) Sign Area 48 square feet 160 square feet (as previously approved) Duration 1 year 1 additional year (2 years total) with the ability to change the text and graphics as needed throughout the year ACTION NEEDED: Consider variance request. HISTORY: The existing development sign was approved by City Council on January 3, 2006 for a period of one year.
