Item 4FCity of Southlake, Texas M E M O R A N D U M February 2, 2007 To: Shana Yelverton, City Manager From: Sharen Jackson, Director of Finance Timothy Slifka, Fleet Coordinator Subject: Authorize Purchase of Vehicles from Dallas Dodge for $149,404.00 Action Requested: Authorization to purchase vehicles from Dallas Dodge for the Department of Public Safety (Police) in the amount of $149,404.00. Background Information: Per Vehicle Replacement Plan these requested vehicles are scheduled for replacement.In October 2006, Southlake contacted HGAC for pricing of said vehicles. The purpose of this was to secure vehicle pricing and to proceed with the scheduled replacement of these vehicles. Financial Considerations: Vehicles are funded through Vehicle Replacement Plan. Citizen Input/ Board Review: None Legal Review: None Alternatives: Deny the authorization and retain the old vehicles. One Police vehicle is currently out of service and another one has been taken out of day to day service because of repair issues. Increased cost to repair current vehicles.
