Background
An Interlocal Agreement for joint public safety and jail services approved in September, 2006 with operations beginning on October 1, 2006.
Original Agreement was for ten (10) years.
Southlake and Keller have been operating under the Agreement since that time.
Revised Interlocal Agreement allows the City of Colleyville, TX to become part of the public safety and jail operations.
Both dispatch and jail will still be operated by the City of Keller.
Information
All agencies recognize the cost and operational benefits of having a regional approach for providing these services.
New agreement allows for increased dispatch and jail staffing.
New agreement provides better supervision of both services.
Agreement will be for an initial six (6) year period ending September 30, 2016.
Option for two successive five (5) year extensions.
