Item 6E Department of Planning & Development Services S T A F F R E P O R T January 30, 2008 ZA07-173 & ZA07-174 CASE NO: Specific Use Permit for a Tent Sale and Automobile Sales PROJECT: REQUEST: On behalf of Gordon Wayne Davis, RM Auctions is requesting approval of a specific use permit for a tent sale and automobile sales for the purpose of holding an auction for the sale of collectibles and automobiles for a time period not to exceed 3 days on property located at 1900, 1950, and 2055 Greenwood Drive. The auction is driven by the need to liquidate the contents of the building on site due to its sale. Dates of Auction Event: April 17—19, 2008; 9am – 6pm daily The applicant has indicated that the auction itself will take place within the existing building at 2055 Greenwood Drive. Tents will be used in the parking areas of that property for the purpose of displaying many of the items listed for auction. STAFF COMMENTS: Applicant should be aware of the following:  Building and fire permits required for the tents and should be applied for well in advance of the planned event;  Tree protection fencing must be installed and inspected before issuance of any building/fire permit; No alteration of trees is permitted and all vehicular and other o activities must remain outside of any critical root zone of any trees;  A driveway/ROW permit may be required for vehicular access into the temporary parking lot.  No event signs are being considered with this application. Sign permit(s) will be required and must comply with Sign Ordinance No. 704-C. PUBLIC SAFETY COMMENTS: Applicant should be aware of the following:  A Mass Gathering Registration form needs to be submitted to the Southlake Department of Public Safety.  Due to the type and location of the event, it is recommended that a minimum of two police officers are on site during the event to address any issues, to include traffic related problems. No on duty personnel will be available for this event. o No additional review comments are provided.
