Holiday Celebration
This year's Holiday Celebration was a
jolly success. Over 3,500 people turned
out to ring in the holiday season and par-
ticipate in the multiple festivities and
family activities. The event kicked off
early in the day and culminated with the
official lighting ceremony of Southlake
Town Square by Santa Claus himself.
This year's celebration included:
• Festival of Trees
• Carriage Rides
• Pictures with Santa
• Kettle Corn and Hot Chocolate
• Performances by the Southlake Com-
munity Band, Local Youth Choirs,
and Strolling Carolers
• Letters to Santa, Face Painting, Bal-
loon Animals, and Marshmallow
Snowmen
The City of Southlake, in partnership
with Keep Southlake Beautiful and Dun-
can Disposal, is pleased to offer curbside
leaf recycling this winter. Citizens have
the opportunity to place their bagged
leaves on the curb and have them picked
up to be recycled on four different
Wednesdays in December and January.
The first, second, and third pickup is now
complete and Southlake residents have
bagged 61 tons of leaves as part of the
City's curbside leaf recycling program.
This initiative is helping residents go
green and give back to the environment.
The fourth and final pickup date is sched-
uled for January 7, 2009.
