Background Information: Ordinance No. 622 states the board shall be composed of five (5) members to be appointed by the City Council to serve two-year terms. In addition, the City Council shall appoint two alternate members who shall serve in the absence of one or more regular members. Members are appointed to places numbered 1 through 5 and alternate members shall be appointed to places numbered 6 and 7. Even numbered places expire in even numbered years and odd numbered places expire in odd numbered years. The terms for David Carpenter (Place 2), Kenneth Horne (Place 4), William Quinn (Place 6, Alternate 1) expired in May 2010; Vacant (Place 3), Vacant (Place 5) and Vacant (Place 7, Alternate 2) expires in May 2011. Financial Considerations: Not applicable Strategic Link: L5: Actively promote opportunities for partnerships and volunteer involvement (individual and group) Financial Impact: Not applicable Citizen Input/ Board Review: Not applicable Legal Review: Not applicable Supporting Documents: Resolution No. 10-032 RESOLUTION NO. 10-032 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE BUILDING BOARD OF APPEALS; PROVIDING FOR THE TERMS; PROVIDING FOR QUALIFICATIONS OF MEMBERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH ORDINANCE NO. 622; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS , the City of Southlake, Texas, is a home rule city acting under its charter adopted by the electorate pursuant to Article XI, Section 5, of the Texas Constitution and Chapter 9 of the Local Government Code; and, WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 622, adopted by the City Council of Southlake, Texas, on September 6, 1994, outlines the appointments to the Building Board of Appeals; and, WHEREAS , Ordinance No. 622 states the board shall be composed of five (5) members to be appointed by the City Council to serve two-year terms. In addition, the City Council shall appoint two alternate members who shall serve in the absence of one or more regular members. Members are appointed to places numbered 1 through 5 and alternate members shall be appointed to places numbered 6 and 7. All of the findings in the preamble are found to be true and correct and the City Council hereby incorporates said findings into the body of this resolution as if copied in their entirety. Section 2.
