PROJECT: Site Plan for Carroll Elementary Shade Structures
EXECUTIVE
SUMMARY:
Carroll Elementary School PTO is requesting approval of a site plan to allow the
addition of two playground shade structures at Carroll Elementary on approximately
25.23 acres located at 1705 W. Continental Blvd. SPIN # 10.
REQUEST DETAILS:
The applicant is requesting to place two shade structures with white metal posts
and a green fabric shade material over existing playground equipment south of the
school building. The shade structures measure approximately 34’ x 34’ x 12’. An
existing shade structure at the site has white metal posts with a green fabric
material.
Variance Request
The applicant is requesting a variance to Zoning Ordinance No. 480, Section
43.13(a)(2), prohibiting membrane-type roofs for structures lying within the
residential adjacency overlay district. The applicant is proposing membrane-type
roofs on two shade structures.
ACTION NEEDED: 1) Conduct a public hearing
2) Consider approval of a site plan
