Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council. Item xx is a request to approve change order #1 to the first amendment to the construction manager at risk contract with Lee Lewis for the construction of the New DIPS headquarters. The Council approved the first amendment to the contract with lee lewis on December 4, 2007 in the amount of $1,925, 913 which covered the site work, demolition, tree removal and utility installation. This item is aligned with the Council's strategic focus area or Quality Development and is aligned with the strategic corporate objective of achieving the highest standards of safety and security. Having almost all of our DIPS employees in one location will greatly enhance the interdepartmental communication and coordination not only within each of the services but among the services as well.
