Item 6A (2)Thank You Mr. Mayor, members of the City Council, the following is a proposal by Downey Enterprises for the approval of a Specific Use Permit for a Solar Energy System to be installed on a roof for the purposes of heating water in the building located at 2545 E. Southlake Boulevard under Planning Case ZA10- 029. 1 The Future Land Use designation is Retail Commercial. 2 The existing zoning is “C-2” Local Retail Commercial. 3 This is an aerial of the site with the property outlined in blue. 4 This is an aerial close up of the property 5 This is a birds eye view looking to the north with the building outlined in yellow. 6 And this is looking to the south. 7 This is a picture showing the location of where the proposed Solar Thermal system is to be installed and located. 8 And this is photographic rendering showing the building with the solar thermal panel installed. The proposal consists of only one panel approximately 31 square feet in size for the purpose of heating water within the building located on the back side of Downey Enterprises within Georgetown Park. 9 This is a picture looking south along a drive aisle within Georgetown Park. The blue arrow indicates the subject building where the solar thermal collector is to be installed. 10 This is another picture looking at the building from the northwest. 11 And this is a picture looking north towards the building from the adjacent property to the south of Downey Enterprises. 12 This is an example of a home that had this panel installed showing a picture of before the installation and after. 13 And this slide shows some of the specifications of the solar thermal collector. 14 15 This concludes staff’s presentation, I am available to answer any questions the Council may have.
