Item 9B Department of Planning & Development Services S T A F F R E P O R T April 28, 2010 CASE NO: MSP10-002 PROJECT: Master Sign Plan for Gateway Church REQUEST: Gateway Church is requesting approval of a Master Sign Plan for the church’s new campus located at 700 Blessed Way, adjacent to the westbound S.H. 114 frontage road. Phase I of the new Gateway Church campus includes a 4000 seat auditorium, a lobby with seating area, a bookstore and coffee bar, a children’s building and classrooms. The Master Sign Plan includes sign regulations for attached signs on the children’s building and worship center, large landscaped monument signs, entryway monument signs (directional signs), directional pylons, and building identifier pylons. A summary of the sign types requested in the Master Sign Plan follows. Please refer to the attached sign plan booklet (Attachment D) for complete details. LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Lot 1, Block 1, Gateway Church – 114 Campus Addition HISTORY: October 22, 2008 - City Council approved a sign variance (SP08- 234) for a temporary development/construction sign along the S.H. 114 frontage road until July 31, 2010 or upon completion of the entry features and associated signage, whichever is earlier.
