Item 5I Authorize the award of bid to Brinkley Sargent Inc. for the Facilities Plan. About the Facilities Plan Implements the following City Council’s Strategic Objective: Systematically invest in and enhance capital infrastructure This study would evaluate future needs for city facilities based on community objectives, desired levels of service, growth potential, and financial efficiencies Scope of the Facilities Plan Phase 1 (Scope One): generate a needs assessment of all existing and potential departments/divisions of the city; Recommend a strategy for satisfying current and future space needs. Phase 2 (Scope Two): evaluate the opportunities for expansion of city facilities on the Parkwood Drive site, including, but not limited to the Senior Center and the city’s Recreation Center; develop a schematic master plan for all proposed uses on the Parkwood Drive site. Details of the Facilities Plan Consulting Fees = $128,550 : Phase 1 = $79,800 Phase 2 = $48,750 Project kick-off in November 2006 and completion by June 2007 Consultant will work with staff and other stakeholders to develop the plan with periodic updates to Council Final plan will be reviewed and adopted by City Council as an element of the Southlake 2025 Plan Questions/Comments? Under the “S-P-2” zoning the applicant proposes the following: “O-1” Office District uses and development regulations Parking – The required number of parking spaces shall be 207 spaces, or equal to a 5% reduction in the required number of parking spaces Carports – Carports shall be a permitted accessory use as shown on the concept plan. The following modifications are proposed to the development regulations specific to carports: o The roof design shall be a low pitch shed roof o The maximum number of parking spaces under a carport shall be 10 spaces o A total number of 8 carport structures shall be permitted Questions?
