Item 9A Department of Planning & Development Services S T A F F R E P O R T February 24, 2010 CASE NO: SV10-004 PROJECT: Sign Variance for Dickey’s Barbeque Pit REQUEST: Sign Center of Dallas, on behalf of Dickey’s Barbeque Pit, is requesting a variance to the Sign Ordinance No. 704-D regulations regarding prohibited signs to allow a neon window sign. Dickey’s Barbeque Pit is located at 260 North Kimball Avenue, Suite 262, in the Southlake Corners shopping center. Section 5.2.9 of Sign Ordinance No. 704-D prohibits signs with exposed neon tube, except for open/closed window signs. The applicant is proposing a 3’ x 3’ neon window sign on the south elevation of the building, facing the parking lot.
